I am a plagiarist, I am a thief of words.
Nothing I say is my own
Everything I have heard before.
Not a word original.
So heed this warning:
Before you read poetry,
Before you read prose,
Check over your shoulder
Around the corner,
In the closet,
Under you bed,
Don’t think too hard or I might yank words directly from you head.
Because I am a plagiarist, I am a thief of words.
I just take the words you say and jumble them all up
So you don’t realize the words I’m reciting
Are really…………your own.
Chase has inspired me to write a bit lately so here we go.

amazing, very true. I really like how you captured the feeling. It almost mad me feel wrong just reading this, wow....this is a very very very powerful piece.
However, you do know that we all are guilty of inspiration by work which can be seen as a form of Plagiarism. just my thought.

The same seed is sown in the hearts of all men.

Plagiarism implies intent. A thought or group of thoughts that is seemingly regurgitated from another source is not necessarily the result of plagiarism. We, as people and particularly as artists, are constantly taking in and asimilating new information and incorporating this knowledge into our indentities. Any unintentional re-use of the information is merely an example of our inner desire to communicate and find tools of universality to do so.

( the above is my 'bullshit writer' version of my response)

Mr. Knight, you have touched on a sensitive key in this forum, Kudos!

Interesting ^_^ I like it. 'I am a plagiarist, I am a thief of words' is a strong line, especially. Very good.

Originality is for the insecure... I'm comfortable enough to rape other peoples work and I'm proud! Proud I say! Cool poem... maybe spell check next time, people get weird about spelling on here.
dogeatdog5 Featured By Owner Feb 10, 2005
Really? I'm s terrible speller but I did this in word and it didn't say anything was misspelled???
MagicDirtFan Featured By Owner Feb 10, 2005
Aahhh, you wrote "to" instead of "too"... spell check wouldn't pick that up. You need a grammar nazi like me in your computer. ;)
hootinanny Featured By Owner Feb 10, 2005
He also spelled 'heed' as 'head'. But all in all I like it, it's cute.
Entangled210 Featured By Owner Feb 13, 2005
Heed instead of head wouldn't make sense. took words from your heed? used you instead of your
hootinanny Featured By Owner Feb 14, 2005
He already fixed it it would seem, he had head where heed is now. :)

I smell a conspiracy.

o_o if you think about it we all plagiarise. because we all have facts that we know. which in turn were taught to us, whom we could site, who was taught that by someone else - they're not our own thoughts, really, we're plagiarising the history of our world.
