A photo I took in the Slot Canyons in Arizona on the Utah border. Over time, water cut out these "slots" through the rock and formed all these textured lines in the surface which makes an amazing subject for a photo. This one will be in my new show opening in Chicago on August 5th at the High Risk Gallery. It should be a awsome night; hope you can be there! [link]

I would never have believed this was a photograph.. The moment I saw it I thought it was maybe a fractal or even an oil painting; but to think that something like this actually exists in the real world.. :faint: Didn't you edit this in any way?

Everything about this is surreal. Even if this is an image of a real place, this looks more like something from a dream. There are elements that are identifiable as rock face, and maybe even a bit of sky.. But it reminds me more of some sort of heavenly fire or ethereal flame. The play between light and dark is amazing here too, on one hand the cliff is lit and the crags and lines are visible, but another part is simply silhouetted against this amazing display.
The forms here are hard to believe to be natural as well, such curves and dips and slanting edges.. I can't tell which is the rock surface in the upper left, it practically looks digital! :D The fire-coloured part at the back looks more menacing than anything in the image, like an infernal glow coming from somewhere below. Among all this surreal and fantastical imagery, that is really the only frightening or uneasy element. That fire in the back and this incredible display of colour int he centre seem almost to be battling, and this dream-cave is just the setting for their war.

I can't find anything to critique here, this is absolutely awing.
